The global air transport industry secured over 42 million commercial flights in 2019, carried nearly 4.4 billion passengers, and generates 65.5 million jobs worldwide. New emerging markets continue to be the drivers of impressive growth around the world, driving airlines to open new destinations and shorten travel times for millions of new passengers. In the current context of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important to remember that the air transport industry is very resilient, and has always been able to hold its own, because as we know, there is no globalisation without air transport.

As recognised by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the greatest challenge facing the industry is the attraction, qualification and retention of future professionals of excellence. Companies in the industry worldwide understand that talent is now a primary and critical source of competitive advantage.

The Degree in Aviation Management is aimed at students seeking to lead and manage in the world of aviation. The course focuses on a wide range of aspects of the global air transport system, with a view to pursuing a professional career in a leading sector, whether in airlines or airports, regulatory bodies, or companies providing air transport and related services.

– To provide a sound understanding of the commercial aviation industry, the fundamentals of managing airport operations and business, managing airlines and their fleets, route scheduling, passenger and cargo operations, security, aircraft maintenance, as well as the strategic development of air transport as a whole.

– To provide students with a solid base of industry experience, developing a sharp business acumen required at the highest levels of an organisation, balancing key aviation concepts with notions of advanced business strategy.

– Explore all facets of business administration, including accounting, economics, finance, marketing, management and global business strategies.

– Ensure that upon graduation, students will be eligible and qualified candidates for operational and executive management positions in the civil aviation industry.

ATLÂNTICA – OMNI AVIATION TRAINING CENTER PARTNERSHIP

 

Aim

Given the sector needs for Airline Pilots and Flight Operations Officers, as central elements of an airline’s flight operations, and focusing on the qualification of highly skilled professional for the international air transport ecosystem, Atlântica and OMNI OATC have established a strategic partnership with a view to:

 

  • Allow students from both institutions to articulate an ATPL Integrated Course with a degree in Air Transport Management;
  • Allow students from both institutions to articulate a Flight Operations Officer Course with a degree in Air Transport Management.

 

Granting of ECTS Credits

Upon validation by Atântica´s Scientific Council, the following curricular units will be eligible for the granting of ECTS credits by Atlântica (for a total of 24 ECTS) to those trainees that demonstrate having acquired the competencies (Learning Outcomes) required under EASA´s Part-FCL, in accordance with the Acceptable Means of Compliance and Guidance Material to Part-FCL, section SUBPART F – AIRLINE TRANSPORT PILOT LICENCE – ATPL, points AMC1 FCL.310; FCL.515 (b); FCL.615 (b):

ATLÂNTICA – SEVENAIR ACADEMY PARTNERSHIP

 

Aim

Given the sector needs for Airline Pilots, as central elements of an airline’s flight operations, and focusing on the qualification of highly skilled professional for the international air transport ecosystem, Atlântica and Sevenair Academy have established a strategic partnership with a view to:

 

  • Allow students from both institutions to articulate an ATPL Modular Course with a degree in Air Transport Management;
